In September we split the site into separate pages: a place for every module, a public price list, news and release history. The structure worked, but the look was still inherited from the old one-page site. In October we redesigned it – this time for every page at once.
Why we changed it
- The site and the application looked like two different products. The site's red was a "website" red, not the one a customer sees after logging in. Now every colour is taken from real system screens – the sign-in window, the document register, approvals – so what you see on the site matches what you will see in the application.
- Screenshots go stale. Instead of pictures, the site shows system scenes built from real application elements: the side menu, the employee record, the request form, the document register. They stay sharp on a screen of any size, and when the application changes we update them together with the text.
- Visitors had to work out where to start. The home page now opens with three choices by company size: small, medium and large company. Each is tied to a pricing plan and shows what it includes, from the same source as the price list.
- The phone came second. The new design was built from the start for three widths – phone, tablet and desktop. On a phone the menu opens from the left, search is one tap away, and the system scenes rearrange instead of shrinking.
- Claims have to match the product. Together with the design we went through every public text and checked it against what the application actually does. What is still in development is marked as such; what does not exist, we no longer promise.
How we chose
Before deciding we built eight variants with real content – texts, modules and prices, not "lorem ipsum": from an editorial style with serif typography to a dark mode. We judged each one by five questions:
- Is it clear within five seconds what this is and who it is for?
- Is the design still "PDVS" – are the red and the mark recognisable?
- Is this what a system you would trust with HR data should look like?
- After two minutes of reading, are your eyes tired, and is it easy to find the price and a contact?
- Does it still look good on a phone?
The calmest variant won – the product presentation: a light background, dark bands only where sections need separating, and the application's red as the single accent.
What changed
- Header. Transparent over the home page, white once you scroll. Menu items expand into sub-items, and search looks through solutions, pages and news at once.
- Home page. Slides, three choices by size, modules, the process flow, integrations, principles, the latest posts and the demo form – all on one page, in a clear order.
- Solution pages. A dark band with the title, then an introduction with a system view and the following sections in the same order on every module. All solutions.
- Fonts. Wix Madefor Display for headings and DM Sans for text. Both are served from our own server, so the browser does not call third-party font services.
What did not change: the addresses are the same, so old links still work; the price list and calculator work as before; the demo form, the RSS feed, customer sign-in and the manuals are where they were.
If something looks wrong in your browser or on your phone, write to us and we will fix it. And if you want to see the system with your own process – book a demo.
